The Christmas season is the time to enjoy the merry bustle leading up to Christmas eve. The markets will be full of beautiful smells; Glühwein, punch, toasted almonds, hot roasted chestnuts, and freshly baked apples. And tons of Christmas cookies. Vendors will sell you gingerbread hearts, nativity figures, Christmas tree ornaments, toys, and snug knitwear. A perfect time to shop for a souvenir.
In Vienna, you will visit the Schoenbrunn Palace Christmas market and also get a private, guided exploration of the palace itself. Step inside the Imperial world of the Empresses and Emperors of the Habsburg Dynasty.
In Salzburg, you will walk with a local expert in the footsteps of Mozart and then get to enjoy the 500-year-old Christmas Market in front of the cathedral. A walk through the Old Town will make you fall in love with this beautiful Baroque city.
Then you will head to Innsbruck, the Alpine and Imperial gem in the heart of the Alps. You will get oriented by your Travel Director as you walk through the Old Town's narrow streets, lined with medieval houses, and see Innsbruck's landmark -- the Golden Roof, which dates back to the Habsburgs.
From hotel check-ins to restaurant reservations, your experienced and knowledgeable Travel Director will be on hand to take care of everything. This journey is also available as a private departure.
Hand-selected travel programs designed by travel experts that will guide you to your perfect Austrian vacation.
